UGA Edges Carolina, 3-2 in softball
10th-seeded Georgia ran out to an early 3-0 lead and Erin Arevalo pitched seven innings of two-hit ball to edge North Carolina, 3-2. Senior Kelli Wheeler tallied a RBI in the loss to the Bulldogs, as the Tar Heels falls to 42-13 and will now face the winner of Georgia Southern vs. Coastal Carolina in an elimination game at 5 p.m.

UNC looks to move on in women's lacrosse playoffs
If UNC and Duke both hope to return to the NCAA women’s lacrosse semifinals, they will have to do it by beating higher-seeded teams on the road today. No. 5 UNC (15-3), which is seeking its fourth consecutive semifinal appearance, will play No. 4 Syracuse (17-3) in the Carrier Dome at 1 p.m. The UNC-Syracuse game will be streamed online for free at SUAthletics.com.

Lots has changed around North Carolina’s football program since Hakeem Nicks left it for the NFL. The same can be said for Nicks, now a three-year veteran of the league. Since leaving UNC, Nicks has recorded two 1,000-yard receiving seasons and won a Super Bowl.

QB Chavas Rawlins commits to West Virginia
If Dana Holgorsen was looking for his next Geno Smith, he might have just found him after West Virginia received a commitment from Monessen (Pa.) quarterback Chavas Rawlins on Friday. "It's official!! I'll be playing college football at the university of West Virginia," Rawlins posted on Facebook. The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder held offers from Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Pitt among others.

Jacob Stallings: Senior Presence
As Jacob Stallings prepares to play the final regular season game of his career at Boshamer Stadium on Saturday, he does so having caught every game but one for the Tar Heels this season. On the season, Stallings is batting .289, has four homeruns, leads the team with 20 doubles and has only committed three errors at the catcher position.
